Civil 3D 2013

A while back we had a Twitter conversation with @AutodeskHelp and @TommieR on UNinstall procedures for various Autodesk products. Autodesk has published articles regarding the removal of Civil 3D 2009, 2011, and 2012. For whatever reason, there is nothing on 2013, and the articles that do exist do not cover the removal of every component installed with Civil 3D

Recently we had the task of performing a few Uninstalls of Civil 3D 2013 and the order of Uninstalls shown below seems to work successfully. This is not the only order that will work, but there are certain things that must occur. For example, you have to remove the Storm and Sanitary Analysis Plug-in before removing the Storm and Sanitary Analysis component itself. Read more about Uninstall Order of Civil 3D components

We want to call your attention to something that has just started to crop up here in Civil 3D. Not sure how widespread this is, but it's known to occur in version 2013.

Essentially, Civil 3D objects such as feature lines, sites, gradings, pipes, structures, etc. will obtain a strange name or description as shown here.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1 is now available for download! This Service Pack includes all previous hotfixes for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. It also includes the fixes included in AutoCAD 2013 Service Pack 1.1 and AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 Service Pack 1.

Thank you Autodesk! I have not installed it yet, but I'm looking forward to this fix -> "In drawings with a custom UCS, switching from the model tab to the layout tab will no longer reset model tab to isometric."

How do I know this has been fixed without installing the SP? It's in the readme file, which is a good idea to read anyway in case there are install notes or other things to be aware of. Hopefully there won't be a recall of this SP or anything like that. There is also an issue regarding the toolspace and parcels, which did NOT get fixed. If you suffer from this bug, I have posted the temporary fix/workaround in message 9 in that discussion group thread

I have now installed the SP and confirmed it by running the ABOUT command.
