Here is a great tip from MMccall in the Augi forums regarding Wipeouts. Did you know that you can set a transparency factor on wipeouts and have them only partially wipeout what is beneath them?
In the sample below, there are 5 circular wipeouts, each with a varying transparency value assigned (as shown by the text). Notice the effect as it relates to the overall blue hatch on the larger circular item.
