About four years ago, Autodesk decided to remove the watermark from drawings created with its educational versions of products. Well, it has now been reinstated, starting with the 2019 versions of products. Take a look at this PDF file for more details. Evidently, the watermark will not “spread” via Copy+Paste in 2019 applications, as it did previously.
Note that the watermark cannot be removed and “any action to bypass the watermark is a violation of your license terms.”
If the link above to the PDF is broken or does not work, try this one.
Thanks to Mike Caruso in the Autodesk Civil 3D forums for pointing this out.
This is an okay move. Why did they ever remove it?

It won’t take long for folks to figure out how to get around the EDU stamp. Autodesk should either leave it as in 2018 or make it much harder to circumvent.
